As with any software, make sure you obtain one that is compatible with your operating system. Some software’s are not compatible as other programs. Only a couple can operate with Vista. Some do not use older versions, such as Windows 98 or earlier. Check before you download or you will have problems you do not want.

Does the software offer free upgrades, or at least simple to upgrade feature? You do not want software that will not work in a couple of months. You want to make sure tech support is there when you need it. Nothing is more frustrating than to download a program and it does not work. And no one is there, or can be found, to help you debug the situation. Best to have that in place before you download.
